90 dungeon battle maps for any fantasy RPG: 30 stone dungeons, 30 caves and 30 mines, each ready to run at the table or on a virtual tabletop.

Every map is built to be played, not just looked at. Every map has a lair, the room the dungeon builds to (a throne room, or a beast's den), and a hoard, often behind a secret or locked door. Hidden traps guard the way to them. The GM map numbers every area, and a written key says what each one holds, what it was for, and the question it leaves you to answer: "Provisions. Enough to last how long, and for how many?" No stats, so the maps work with 5e, OSR games, Pathfinder or anything else on a 5 ft grid.

WHAT EVERY MAP COMES AS

  • Players' map, with a grid and without (100 pixels per square)
  • GM map: numbered areas, hidden traps, secret and locked doors marked
  • Written key, as text and as a printable GM PDF, plus a GM book of every map
  • Universal VTT file (.dd2vtt) with walls, doors and lights, for Foundry VTT, Roll20, Fantasy Grounds and others
  • True-scale print PDFs, 1 inch per square: tiled across US Letter or A4 with cut marks and an assembly guide, or on one sheet for a print shop
  • Five palettes of the same map (13 across the pack), with the same walls so one VTT file fits all five
  • Layered SVG, every layer separate and editable
  • The whole map as JSON data, for tool builders and game developers

THE MAPS

Stone dungeons (30): rooms and corridors, rooms dressed by what they were for (a shrine, a library, a crypt, a barracks, a workshop), secret doors, locked doors with their keys hidden elsewhere in the dungeon, and a guardroom before the throne room on most maps.

Caves (30): natural caverns and winding passages, with a beast's den for a lair.

Mines (30): dug tunnels and walled, worked chambers: a barracks, a storeroom, the diggings, and secret and locked doors.

Each type in three sizes: 10 small (28 x 20 squares), 10 medium (36 x 26 squares) and 10 large (50 x 36 squares).

Across the pack: 38 secret doors, 44 locked doors (every key placed), 168 hidden traps.

PLAYER SAFE

Everything outside the gm folder is safe to show players: no room numbers, no hidden traps, and secret doors drawn as plain wall.

HONEST NOTES

These maps are procedurally generated: a generator builds each one from rules (how rooms, corridors and caverns are laid out, how rooms are furnished, where the lair and the hoard go and what guards them), and an automated audit checks every map before it ships. They are clean, readable battle maps, not hand-painted illustration.

Universal VTT files can't mark a door secret or locked, so in the VTT file a secret door is a plain wall and a locked door is an ordinary door. The GM key says where each one is, and the README shows how to switch them in Foundry and Roll20 in a couple of clicks.

QUESTIONS

Does it work with Foundry VTT?
Yes. Import a .dd2vtt file with the free Universal Battlemap Importer module and the scene arrives with its map, grid, walls, doors and lights.

Roll20?
Yes. In the Page Menu choose Upload Background and drop in the .dd2vtt file. Dynamic lighting needs a Roll20 subscription; on a free account, use the gridless image.

Owlbear Rodeo and other VTTs?
Upload the gridless image: the grid size is in the filename, which Owlbear Rodeo reads to set the grid. Images are 100 pixels per square.

Can I print them for miniatures?
Yes. Each map comes tiled at 1 inch per square on Letter or A4, with an assembly guide, cut marks and a 1 inch check bar, or as one large sheet.

Which game systems?
Any fantasy RPG that uses a grid. The key describes rooms, not monsters, so you stock them for your own game.

Can I use the maps in something I sell?
Yes: in adventures, modules, zines and streams, with no attribution needed. You can't resell or give away the maps themselves as maps.

Can I try it first?
Yes. Deephold - Free Starter Pack has 3 of the maps free, one of each type, with every file: https://defaulted19.itch.io/deephold-free-starter-pack
